OTC 4534 Puller Set
Here is a peek into my puller drawer. Most of these tools were made in the USA by Owatonna Tool Company, better known as OTC Tools. Several years ago, OTC moved production of many of their tools to Taiwan. I decided I wouldn’t be buying any more of their products.
My puller set wasn’t quite complete. As far as I know, Snap-on and Proto are the only other sources of USA made pullers.
After so many years of abstinence, I fell off the wagon and purchased an OTC 4534 puller set for $109 from Amazon. A similar set from Snap-on costs $560.
Although made in Taiwan, I am hoping the OTC product will be better quality than other brands of imported pullers. The set passes visual inspection. A demanding pulling job will be the true test.

I have this same set for my home shop and the Snap On set at work. If you put them side by side there dimensionally the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if OTC didn’t make the Snap On set. The newer Snap On pullers have a different design now.
I meant to say different spreader design !
I applaud your trying to buy American whenever possible.
But a savings of over $450.00 is just too tough to pass up.
Maybe the American manufacturers can come up with a way to be comparable with these prices through ingenuity.
There is always hope.
