Sears Gift Card
I arrived at Sears to spend a $50 gift certificate I got for Christmas. Most of the Craftsman hand tools are now made in China. Hopefully I can find some USA made tools that are left. Unaware of the store hours, I arrived a half hour early. I noticed that all of the front parking spots were taken. These vehicles must belong to employees. I always thought employees were supposed to park farther back and leave the better parking spots for customers. The message I take from this is that customers do not come first at Sears.
It looks like I am too late, this store is closing.
There is nothing left for me to buy.
Where were the ads promoting quality USA made products and exceptional service? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen any.
I’ve always been a fan of USA made Craftsman tools. Sadly, I think those days are long gone. I predict that Sears will join Woolworth and Montgomery Wards in the next couple of years.

You hit it right on the head Steve.
Some of my best old, old tools are ones passed down to me from my dad when Sears made really great stuff in the old days. I mean -just for example- I have a spring loaded punch my dad gave me, it has to be 40 years old, and it works better then newer ones I’ve received as gifts.
Now, Sears is second rate (at best) and only a few things are worth getting.
I do like my combination squares I got at Sears.
I think you are right about Sears going the way of the doe-doe.
I sure wish more manufacturers would bring their plants home.
I know I’d spend a little more for American made.
