Copper Christmas Tree
This little tree was a joint effort between my wife and I. The trunk is an 11″ long piece of 1/2″ copper pipe. I drilled holes, spaced every inch. My wife strung #12 bare copper wire through the holes and formed the shape of the tree.
The base is a 4 1/2″ square scrap of pine. I cut a bevel on the top edges. My wife stained the base with Minwax special walnut.
After cutting off a short piece of copper pipe, I slit it length-wise with a hacksaw. Next, I pounded it flat with a hammer. I cut out the star with aviation snips and added the lines with a cold chisel. A ball of epoxy putty secures the star into the trunk.

I love it!!! So pretty, and unique!
Not traditional for sure, but elegant in it’s own right! The fact that you made it together will deem it a cherished piece of your Christmas decor for years to come I’m sure.
Just wondering, did you lacquer the copper, or are you going to allow it to achieve a patina?
We are going to let the copper tarnish.
